We loved this house, and the location! Picture meadows, vineyards, new baby horses, and plenty of sunshine and quiet. John and Louise, the owners, were very gracious and helpful to all of us. The house is a beautiful French farm house, spacious and immaculate. The property is rolling meadows and forest, with a lot of pre-history right in the area. The house is in the country, but only five minutes from handy shopping in the large town of Bergerac. It was easy to get to a main auto route, for longer day trips, and the local village boulangerie had marvelous croissants and bread. Several people in our party went riding, and really enjoyed it. This is a wonderful vacation spot. We recommend it most highly as a wonderful and memorable place to stay. We loved taking the day trips to see the prehistoric caves and the medieval towns, and to eat in the restaurants, and visit the local markets and village celebrations. Each day when we got home, we loved sitting around the pool!

"We stayed at the Barn during August 2011 and had a wonderful
time. The owners (John and Louise) were very welcoming, and we felt quite at home. Louise is an experienced instructor and our riding has certainly improved as a result of her tuition. We also recommend the hacks as they take you through vineyards and picturesque villages, and you have the option of stopping for a picnic lunch along the way. All in all, a very enjoyable holiday."

"Fantastic for adults and children"
Just returned from 2 weeks in the Dordogne. The villa is an old farm house- rustic, roomy and very private.
The villa has a private pool- only ever overlooked by ponies in the field, visiting hens and Buddy the dog. Satellite TV with all English channels- heaven for early mornings.
Every morning the children rode- the owner is qualified with BHS and is of a very high standard. The two older ones were jumping, cross country and dressage; the youngest is 5 and by the end of the holiday she was off lead rein and doing rising trot.
Every evening the youngest would help the owner's husband search for the hens' eggs.
It truly is a magical place amongst the vines, 10 minutes drive to airport and Bergerac; 20 minutes to top vineyards. 30 minutes drive to canoe/kayaking in Dordogne for 3 years upwards.
If you are looking for a relaxing/active holiday then this is it. If your children love ponies then they will be in heaven. My two oldest are going back next Summer to stay with the owner in their house and polish up their French. I could not rate the holiday any higher. Just perfect.

We felt very well looked after - we really appreciatedyour kindness, warmth and professionalism throughout our
stay (and that is in addition to the delightful accommodation and superb surroundings!!)
As mentioned before, we are seriously thinking of booking in again next summer and will contact you to check availability once our plans are more concrete.
With our warmest wishes to you all
